Our obligation for a sustainable development

The concept of sustainable tourism covers any form of development, construction or tourist activity that respects and provides long-term protection of the area’s natural, cultural and social resources.
This approach advocates a mild and controlled form of tourism that will act as a limiting factor on the by-products of mass tourism and initiate relationships on a human level between the major parties in the tourism sector.
Development of, and respect for, this natural and cultural heritage requires a programme for raising awareness about the rich environmental resources among the local population and among the economic players in particular.

A range of local goods, much appreciated by visitors from urban centres looking for authenticity and genuine regional produce, is the natural result of this development.
Consequently, the twin approaches of ‘protection and development’, often presented as contradictory, become complementary and create a synergism that benefits everyone.
Finally, sustainable tourism is not a goal to attain, rather a process, a way of operating, building, and welcoming and catering for people. It is an attitude of respect for nature and visitors.
